About this tool

Create random passwords using your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, with control over length, character types, look-alike characters and whether every selected type must appear. Each password is sampled without modulo bias, so every character is equally likely rather than quietly favouring the start of the alphabet. Nothing is transmitted, logged or stored: the password exists only in this tab, which is exactly what a password generator on someone else’s server cannot promise.

How are passwords generated?

The tool uses cryptographic random values to select characters from your chosen sets. You can change the length, exclude look-alike characters, and require every selected character type.

Does this tool save my password?

The tool does not save generated passwords. Copy the one you want to keep into a password manager. Clipboard history or other software on your device may retain a copy after you use Copy.

Which characters can I use?

Choose lowercase letters, uppercase letters, digits and symbols. Quotes and backslashes are excluded from the symbol set. Check the requirements of the site where you will use the password.
