Fit inside keeps the shape and makes the image as large as it can be within your box, so one dimension usually comes out smaller than you asked. Fill and crop keeps the shape, matches your box exactly, and trims what does not fit from both sides evenly. Yes, with “Allow enlarging” turned on, but understand what it does. Enlarging invents pixels by averaging the ones nearby; it cannot recover detail the camera never captured. It works for flat graphics and logos and will not sharpen a blurred photograph.
