About this tool
Convert text or an identifier between ten cases: lower, upper, title, headline, sentence, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE. Word splitting understands the boundaries programmers care about, so parseHTTPResponse becomes parse_http_response rather than one run-on word, and accented and non-Latin text is handled correctly. What happens to acronyms in title case?
Title case lowercases the rest of each word, so ALCO becomes Alco. That is what title case means, but it is worth knowing before you convert a heading full of initialisms — convert those by hand or use headline case on the surrounding words.
How is headline case different from title case?
Headline case leaves minor words — a, an, the, of, to, in, and similar — lowercase unless they are the first or last word. Title case capitalises every word without exception.
Why does base64 become base_64?
A letter followed by a digit is treated as a word boundary, which is the same rule the common JavaScript case libraries use, and it is what you want for names like user2id. If you need the digits kept attached, adjust that one line afterwards.
